I have another question for you concerning this seperation anxiety on my 8 week old chihuahua. This crying is out of control and I feel so bad that I do not even want to come to work and leave her alone. Someone was telling me about anxiety medicine or natural anxiety medicine. Do they really work and if so is she too young to give her those drops or pills? More on Should I use anxiety meds on my puppy?

My 6 month Chi likes to chew up anything paper. I try to put up everything I can to prevent him from doing this, but somehow he always finds something to get into. We’ve caught him in the act and told him “NO” and even put him in his kennel for a while, but nothing seems to work. What can I do to prevent this? I have a chihuahua that is about ten weeks old now. When i bought him he was fawn and white. Within a couple of weeks since i had bought him he started to develop brown spots on his body. Is this normal, is he changing his color. Should i be concerned about the spots? More on Are the brown spots on my chihuahua normal?

I just picked up a little girl chi last night. She’s gorgeous at 6 months. However, she is new to me and she is really having a lot of difficulties with adjusting. She is hiding and won’t let me near her to even pet her. She seems scared to death right now. She had already bonded to her original owner, and I’m scared that she won’t adjust at all. Do you know any tricks of the trade in helping her to adjust to our home? More on My new puppy is scared. How can I help her adjust?

I am picking up a new chi pup from a friend of mine. i have been able to see the pup weekly since she was born. As far as feeding i was told to keep the chi on puppy food for life? they are crunching on puppy food now but I have always thought that the pups should be changed over to adult food. This is my first chi but not my first toy breed ( i grew up with a mini dachsund) anyway any hints of tips would be greatly appreciated! More on When is my chihuahua ready for adult food?

I just had a 10 week old chihuahua puppy given to me, but there is something that concerns me. He sleeps alot and when he shakes his head he falls. Also he doesn’t really walk around well at all and whimpers sometimes. There is a big soft spot on top of his head too. Any help would be appreciated. My husband just brought home a 6 wk. old tea cup chihuahua. It was not taken care of. The little girl is very thin and has patches of fur missing on neck on side. You can actually see its ribs and back spine. It has been eating and drinking. However, if you try and touch its back to pick it up it will growl. Seems scared a lot and does not lick you unless you have something on your finger it likes. Mainly likes to curl up whether on your lap or in her little pen to sleep. Any suggestions? My chihuahua goes to the bathroom and then steps in it. I drive my fiancee to work in the morning and leave her in the bathroom to do her business. I am only gone for about 45 minutes, so I thought what could be the worst thing that could happen. Well I came home and she had stepped in her poo and pee and was jumping all over my bathroom. There was poop everywhere, on my floor, toilet, walls and vanity. I couldn’t believe it she was running in it and she thought it was great. She is only 5 months old so i hope she grows out of it. Is that normal and how can I break the habit? We trained her to go on her pads which she is still learning, but she seems so excited after she just steps in it and not just once.

My husband and I recently got a long-haired Chihuahua. We really love him. He is so cute and he is such a good dog but he keeps chewing on his feet. He chews on them very hard and I don’t know if this is normal or not. Is this something that they do or is there something I can do to his paws or something I can put on his paws to stop him from doing this?
