I had animal control pick up my moms chihuahua (bambi) yesterday as she bit an elderly woman in her senior complex. my mom is elderly too and is unable to tend to the dog and train her. nor can I because I have 4 inhouse cat and no yard for the dog. I feel terrible as the dog will be put to sleep at the end of 10 days quarantine. More on What should I do if we can no longer care for our dog?

My husband just brought home a 6 wk. old tea cup chihuahua. It was not taken care of. The little girl is very thin and has patches of fur missing on neck on side. You can actually see its ribs and back spine. It has been eating and drinking. However, if you try and touch its back to pick it up it will growl. Seems scared a lot and does not lick you unless you have something on your finger it likes. Mainly likes to curl up whether on your lap or in her little pen to sleep. Any suggestions? As a volunteer for Chihuahua Rescue and Transport, I’m working with PETCO again this year to promote its 3rd annual Search for the Fastest Chihuahua. This year, 15 cities have been chosen for the regional races to be held over 3 weekends (May 5: Sacramento, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Miami. May 12: Boston, Phoenix, Anaheim, San Francisco and Dallas. May 19: Seattle, Denver, San Diego, Houston and Washington, D.C). The winner of each region will be flown with their owner to San Diego for the National Finals on September 2, at PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres. The best thing is that the final race will be held in between innings during a major baseball game! More on PETCO’s Search for the Fastest Chihuahua
